Um decreto publicado pelo governo do Pará no Diário Oficial do Estado proíbe queimadas no território estadual, desde o 27 de agosto de 2024, período considerado de estiagem.
De 1º de janeiro de 2024 até 2 de setembro de 2024, o Pará registrou 21.772 focos ativos, segundo o Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais. E uma operação foi montada para investigar as queimadas que vêm ocorrendo na região sudeste do Estado.
Para isso, a Polícia Civil, por meio da Divisão Especializada em Meio Ambiente e Proteção Animal (Demapa), deflagrou a operação que visa investigar as queimadas na região.
INVETIGAÇÃO DAS QUEIMADAS
Os trabalhos de investigação estão sendo feitos por meio da Divisão Especializada em Meio Ambiente e Proteção Animal, com monitoramento da tecnologia com imagens vinda de satélite direto para uma sala de monitoramento criada especialmente para o assunto.
Os responsáveis pelo monitoramento visam coibir ações ambientais criminosas na região sudeste estadual, a operação batizada como Hefesto faz parte de uma ação permanente.
O Demapa instaurou um inquérito policial para apurar o caso e realiza perícia para identificar se o fato foi ou não criminoso, e as autoridades judiciais estão ouvindo testemunhas, para o laudo ser feito nas formalidades legais.
